This cap can be used with EPA Style Screw Top Vials or can be used with heavy wall, Reaction Vials. Phenolic caps are used when higher temperature than polypropylene can withstand is required. Phenolic caps can be brittle and crack when subjected to excessive force when applying to the vial.

Silicone Rubber / PTFE Septa with Durometer of 45 Shore A, (hardness) and 3.0mm thick with Ultra Clean PTFE and Ultra Low Bleed Rubber that is made by a proprietary process for ultra high purity, low extractables and temperature durability. This Septa is good for highly sensitive analyses. No color has been added to this Septa. The lower Durometer means that this is a softer Septa and therefore better for easier penetrations by autosampler needles. Wide temperature range from -60⁰ to 200⁰C.

Ultra low bleed Septa is a popular choice for GC and when siloxanes from silicone rubber may be a problem but you still want to use PTFE. Also used in HPLC when a Crimp Cap is required.

Pre-Slit Septa are normally recommended for Waters Alliance and Acquity instruments.Natural Septa does not have any color pigment and will not introduce extractables.

Ultra-low Bleed Septa provide less extractables than most septa and is recommended for LCMS. The star shaped (*) slit offers a much greater target area for an autosampler needle to penetrate the septa and offers minimal resistance. It may not reseal as well as other Pre-Slit Septa.
